Paul has over 25 years’ experience advising on cross-border M&A transactions, including public and private company acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, minority investments, strategic alliances, joint ventures and asset sales across a wide range of industries.

Paul also has extensive experience advising private equity clients, pension funds, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and other financial investors on transactions globally. Paul also advises financial advisors on advisory mandates.

Paul has extensive experience advising on U.S. law transactions, including U.S. public company transactions, take private transactions, de-SPACs and U.S. venture capital transactions, as well as English law transactions.

Paul has previously worked in New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management on various transactions in the U.S. and Europe.

Vice Media Group in its sale to Fortress Investment Group LLC, Soros Fund Management, and Monroe Capital.

Chipita S.A. on the sale of its business to Mondelēz International, Inc. for approximately $2 billion.

CPPIB on various investments, including in Postal Savings Bank of China and 10x Future Technologies.

Pro bono

Advising NGOs on nature-focused pro bono work.

Advising Lawyers Without Borders on various matters, including human trafficking, child labour and wildlife crime.

Advising Impact Investment Exchange on the issuance of the $8 million Woman's Livelihood Bond, the world's first listed debt security with a dual focus on financial and social returns, empowering 385,000 woman in Southeast Asia.
