Shearman & Sterling secured an important pro bono victory on behalf of Francisco Palomo, a client referred through Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
Francisco worked as a musical producer and also as a member of a heavy metal band. Francisco had been trying to secure property that was wrongfully taken from him by his former manager. Shearman & Sterling filed suit on Francesco’s behalf in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York in 2015 and after many years of proceedings and hard work from the Shearman & Sterling team, defendants agreed to allow Francisco to retrieve his property, which he did on March 27.
The case will continue with a trial on the amount of damages Francisco is owed next February.
