Shearman & Sterling Offers Pro Bono Support to Pace-NRDC Food Law Initiative’s COVID-19 Legal Support Project

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect our food systems in many ways, including New York State’s farmers and food, beverage and agricultural businesses. In response to this unprecedented situation, Shearman & Sterling lawyers are collaborating with The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and the Natural Resources Defense Council on the “Pace-NRDC Food Law Initiative,” their COVID-19 Legal Support Project to provide pro bono legal services to new and existing clients affected by this crisis.

The Food Law Initiative aims to assist the essential businesses that support our local food system as they navigate the growing number of federal, state, and private relief programs, face legal challenges including the need to renegotiate leases or other contracts, and change their business models to adjust to this new environment.

The resources created by Shearman & Sterling are updated regularly and are delivered in English and Spanish.
