Practice

Mr. Martin is a partner in the Litigation Group and Managing Partner of the Washington, D.C. office.  He represents clients in matters related to federal enforcement and disputes arising under U.S. laws regulating business activities.  His practice includes civil and criminal enforcement matters, agency and internal investigations, and advocacy before courts, agencies and the Congress.  Mr. Martin is also the Director of the firm's Appellate and Supreme Court Practice Group.

  • Representation of mutual fund companies in investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the N.Y. Attorney General
  • Multiple investigations and litigation arising out of the redomestication of Electric Mutual Liability Insurance Company, Ltd. to Bermuda

  • Litigation and negotiated resolution of Department of Justice enforcement actions on behalf of CAE
  • Grand Jury investigation and civil enforcement action regarding federal customs matters for General Tire
  • Department of Labor investigation and federal class action litigation regarding ERISA claims for Burlington Industries
  • Representation of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries in the Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court
